Instant Expert: Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage analysis with gay rights activist and best-selling “The Cross in the Closet” author Tim Kurek.

It’s very exciting to see the country change its perspective, as I have changed mine.

WASHINGTON, DC, USA, June 26, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The U.S. Supreme Court delivered a huge victory today for gay rights, ruling 5 to 4 that the Constitution requires that states can no longer allow marriage only for heterosexual couples, permitting same-sex couples to marry no matter where they live.

Critics of the ruling, of which there are many, said the court has changed the traditional definition of marriage, sending the country into uncharted territory. Those favoring the ruling called it the most pressing civil rights issue of modern times.

Gay rights activist and best-selling author Timothy Kurek is encouraged by the ruling. “It’s very exciting to see the country change its perspective, as I have changed mine,” says Kurek, whose book “The Cross in the Closet” details how his opinion on the matter has changed dramatically since 2009.

A Christian formerly strongly against gay rights, Kurek is now a strong ally and activist for LGBT equality, after spending a year posing as a gay man to his family and friends in order to try to change their perspectives. Kurek’s amazing story of living as a gay man for a year made his book The Cross in the Closet a controversial international best seller, translated into several languages.
