SunRise PV Systems Wins 2nd Round Tender in Jordan
SunRise’s President & CEO, Mr George I. Karnomourakis, commented: “I am very pleased to announce today the selection of our company by the Ministry of Energy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan as the lowest bidder for Stage II of the Direct Proposal Submission. It has been a profound, long and demanding process for us, that has led to this result. We all in SunRise feel rewarded for our faith and commitment to the bright solar future of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan”.
Mr Karnomourakis continued, “Since our establishment in Jordan in early 2012, we have been working hard to develop this really promising market. Notably, Jordan is a pioneer in the region and in this capacity has also acted as a lighthouse for other MENA countries. We intend to further invest on Human and Capital Resources and we are very pleased with the level of readiness both in Regulatory, Infrastructure and Technical aspects of the Jordanian Authorities”.

The project’s installed power is 50MWac and it is located near Al Mafraq, about 90km North of Amman. According to the tender schedule a PPA will be signed during the next months. Construction will follow shortly.
