Road safety projects take priority in Egypt and North Africa

CAIRO, EGYPT, April 2, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- A roster of experts, activists and government are set to discuss the important issue of road safety at the Road Safety Egypt and North Africa conference from the 5 – 6 May 2015 at the InterContinental Citystars Cairo.

Following on from successful road safety events in the UAE and Qatar, IQPC has teamed up with the Automobile and Touring Club of Egypt to deliver their annual road safety conference. Key stakeholders from Ministry of Transportation, Transport Planning Authority, Greater Cairo Transport Regulatory Authority, General Authority for Roads, Bridges and Land Transport and Egypt’s Ministry of Health will address the vital issue of road safety in North Africa.

Following years of inaction on road safety in Egypt, action is now being taken on the matter with two government bodies being set up to improve the safety of Egypt’s roads and funding being allocated to improve the state of Egypt’s road infrastructure. With brilliant private sector initiatives to increase road safety beginning to make an impact in Egypt, this event will provide a great platform to make progress and recognise achievement.

Hosted by global events company IQPC and chaired by the Egyptian Minister of Transport, His Excellency Hany Dahy, the event’s speakers will include Dr. Saad Gioshy, Head of the General Authority for Roads, Bridges and Land Transport; Sayed Metwale, Head of the Greater Cairo Transport Regulatory Authority;, Mr Anthony Pearce, Road Safety Expert and Former Chairman of the International Road Federation as well as a roster of road safety experts and stakeholders.
