Europe and Eurasia: Assistant Secretary Frank A. Rose to Travel to Romania, Israel, and Turkey

Assistant Secretary for Arms Control, Verification and Compliance Frank A. Rose will travel to Romania, Israel, and Turkey, March 28-April 4, for consultations on space security, missile defense, and other bilateral and multilateral security topics.

On March 30, Assistant Secretary Rose will meet senior officials from Romania’s Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs to discuss cooperation on missile defense, arms control, and other subjects related to the NATO Alliance. He also will deliver keynote remarks at the Romanian-American University and the National School of Politics and Administration concerning progress on the U.S.-NATO missile defense architecture.

March 30-April 1, Assistant Secretary Rose will meet with Israeli officials and conduct public outreach activities. In Tel Aviv, Assistant Secretary Rose will meet with senior officials in Israel’s Ministry of Defense to discuss a range of bilateral security topics. On April 1, he will meet with senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem to discuss bilateral strategic cooperation.

April 2-4, Assistant Secretary Rose will travel to Ankara, Turkey. During this time, he will lead the U.S. delegation in its consultations with senior officials from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other officials on a variety of strategic issues of mutual concern.
