Former Muslim Converted to Christianity Interviewed at South Biscayne Church

Saturday, March 7 at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 8 at 9:30 and 11 a.m.

NORTH PORT, FL, USA, March 9, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- "Muhammad had grown up hating Jews and Christians- even celebrating their deaths." (Excerpt from the book Storm by Jim Cymbala). Sam Muhammad grew up in a refugee camp in Lebanon. He was raised in the ways of Islam and considered himself a "good Muslim." After encountering a Christian named George, Muhammad began to question the faith he had been raised to believe. While turning his back on Islam and embracing Christianity, he was put in chains and beaten by his family. His family felt that he brought shame on them because of his new-found faith. One night after the pressure continued to build, he escaped to find refuge with other Christians. In his words, "While freedom of religion was ostensibly practiced in Lebanon, and both Christians and Muslims could worship as they choose, it was not acceptable for a Muslim to convert to Christianity. In some way, I had defamed Islam. As a result, I was often targeted and thrown in jail. They never said it was because of my faith - they always claimed it was because of something else- but I knew why I was behind bars. Yet I used that time as an opportunity to tell other inmates how much Jesus loved them."

Muhammad shared his story and how he has transformed from a man of hate to a man of love. His full story can be found in the book Storm by Jim Cymbala.
