Asad Shamim calls on the government of USA & UK to take action & control Pakistan's Judicial System

Mr. Shamim appeals to major world leaders to create "International Pakistan Judicial Commission" as a necessary measure needed to overcome world terrorism.

LANCASHIRE, UK, February 25, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- "In order to be controlled effectively, terrorism must be crushed in the bud," believes Asad Shamim. "What has to be dealt with, is its source and recent studies have linked its emergence and spread to organized crime and, unsurprisingly, corruption. If world leaders want to control terrorism, they must first intervene to Control Pakistan's Judicial System, which is notoriously and outrageously corrupt," Asad Shamim says.

Over the recent decades, the world has witnessed the rise of a new threat, which hadn't been as widespread and evident in the previous centuries – terrorism. Unlike open warfare, it is hard to define and therefore, extremely difficult to control. Terrorism is often characterized by extreme fanaticism of its supporters and poses a serious threat to world security and peace. The phenomenon of terrorism hasn't, however, appeared out of the blue, it's underlying causes are complex but eventually point to two main factors: organized crime and corruption.

"Corruption is directly linked to terrorism as it creates highly favourable climate allowing it to flourish and spread," explains CEO of Furniture in Fashion. "Officials can be bribed to smuggle weapons or create faux charity foundations that actually sponsor terrorist organizations. Moreover, corruption promotes inequality and pushes people to turn to criminals to look for justice," Asad Shamim states. "As of today, there are hundreds of cases pending in the Supreme Court of Pakistan, some as long as 18 years with no prospect of resolution and arrival at any legal decision whatsoever. Why are these cases being prolonged? Evidently, this is happening because the higher judges are acting in their own self-interest, despite the fact that their original purpose is to serve the people of Pakistan. Apart from failing to perform the Supreme Court's main function, undermining people's trust in judges of the highest level and hindering the inflow of investments into the country's economy, this also creates extremely favourable conditions for international terroristic organizations and organized crime," says Mr. Shamim.

The research conducted by global coalition against corruption Transparency International shows incredibly high corruption perception index in Pakistan, which is extremely alarming. The country now ranks among the world's most corrupt states, with corruption index being only slightly lower than in troubled Afghanistan or Ukraine.

Being a UK resident, a Pakistani expat and an entrepreneur, Mr. Shamim has previously voiced his concerns over Pakistan's deteriorating economic conditions and poor investment climate, linking it to highly corrupt judicial system.

"At present the Judiciary has become a party in itself. A big question is why is there no check and balance on the actions of these Judges? Obvious lack of trust means the entire judicial system needs to be regulated to ensure the accountability of judicial officers for failure to perform their main function. With virtually no one in control of the actions of Supreme Court judges, they are entitled to almost unlimited authority, which promotes unlimited corruption. We desperately need the external body to monitor Pakistan’s Judicial system and I therefore call on the formulation of “International Pakistan Judicial Commission. The situation has gotten out of hand and requires international assistance," Mr. Shamim states.

Previously, the owner and managing director of Furniture in Fashion had aborted the plan to open a manufacturing plant in Pakistan due to political instability and poor economic conditions and investment climate in a troubled country.

"Pakistan has immense talent in terms of professionals in different walks of life. But the lack of system in addition to political instability is killing the economy of Pakistan. Economy plays a major role in developing a strong foundation of a country. Pakistan has been struggling on the hands of corrupt system ruled by corrupt politicians hence leading to economic deterioration," says Asad Shamim. "With the country remaining in turmoil for so many years, it's obvious that such situation is highly profitable for terroristic organizations and transnational crime groups."

Being a patriotic Pakistani expat in UK, Asad Shamim has contributed a lot of efforts to making his country prosperous and developed. Back in 2012 Mr. Shamim decided to launch an NGO named “Ehsaas” intended to provide a single platform for Pakistani experts in the UK and adjoining countries to participate in various discussions regarding the problems existing in Pakistan with an effort to provide solutions for all the problems.

"The only way to solve problems of Pakistan is to change the system," Mr. Shamim says.

However, Mr. Asad Shamim believes that when the country's judicial system is outright dishonest and profoundly corrupt, this calls for intervention on international level.

"In a world threatened by international terrorism, we can no longer pretend that omnipresent corruption is just a local problem. If USA and UK want to control terrorism, they must first intervene to control Pakistan’s Judicial System," Mr. Shamim says. "The security and peace in the Middle East and, consequently, the entire world is at stake."
