LEXINGTON, KY.--, UNITED STATES, January 6, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- LEXINGTON, Ky. – Author Jon K. Elliot takes readers into a gripping mystery read in his book, “On the Run in College Park”.

“On the Run in College Park” narrates the story of four University of Maryland students who become inadvertently caught up in a terrorist cell that is planning an attack somewhere in the Washington, D.C. area. Of the four students, one is an international Muslim male student from Morocco; two are freshman roommates with two very different nationalities and religion; and one is a Christian man.

“My inspiration was the challenge to write a mystery that is realistic, compelling, and reflective of the kinds of forces and issues that are prominent in today's world,” shares Elliot, when asked about the inspiration behind the plot of the story.

“Jon K. Elliot never fails to bring something good on the table. Each of the four characters in the story demonstrates courage and personal honor in the face of fear created by the terrorists in their lives. Readers will be able to relate with these realistic characters, characters who have fears, doubts, and indecisions. Even so, their actions in the face of terror or fear demonstrate believable acts of courage. The setting is familiar to a great many people and it provides interest beyond the story itself,” states Stacy Baker, Acquisitions Editor of Tate Publishing.

Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book will be available upon its release, through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.

Jon K. Elliot was raised in Jackson, Ohio. He joined the U.S. Navy after finishing at Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. During his Navy career he had two tours of duty in the Washington, D.C. area. After retiring from the Navy, he worked as a church builder and a church business administrator in the Northern Virginia area for 11 years and in Lexington, Kentucky for four years. Until his retirement in 2000 he continued to work in construction management and construction planning. He and his wife, Barbara, continue to live in Lexington, Kentucky.
