Give Hope 5 & Stop Secrets of Abuse

NORTHEAST, PENNSYLVANIA, UNITED STATES, November 20, 2014 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Jennifer Grube announces Give Hope 5 & Stop Secrets of Abuse through an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign designed to benefit F.A.C.E.S. The acronym stands for Faith, Accountability, Community, Education and Services. The Give Hope 5 & Stop Secrets of Abuse project will provide 5 outreach, prevention, education or counseling sessions each day for one year. The number 5 is significant because 5 children die each day due to abuse or neglect. F.A.C.E.S. has a vision to end child abuse.

Like many journeys, the road to end abuse is a long, hard one that begins with one step, and is continued by putting one foot in the front of the other. It begins with people like Angel. When five years old, Angel was violently sexually assaulted. For the next twenty years, her journey was a sad one. She experienced nightmares, trauma, tumultuous personal relationships, mental health breakdowns and other self-injurious behaviors. Finally, through F.A.C.E.S., she received the professional counseling help that was critical to begin to turn her life around. She still has a long way to go, but she has made a gallant start. “I couldn’t have done it without F.A.C.E.S.,” Angel says with a smile.

F.A.C.E.S. moves toward their vision to end child abuse through the provision of outreach, prevention, education and counseling for survivors of abuse and those at risk for being abused. Their dream is a world where children can grow up safely and free from fear. Programs like Give Hope 5 & Stop Secrets of Abuse will provide critical services for children and families who would otherwise not receive help.
Counseling survivors of abuse is more than just helping individuals. It is well known that abused individuals have an increased likelihood of abusing their own children. By helping child abuse survivors; we will increase the chances of breaking the cycle of violence which is essential to creating a world where children can grow up in safety.

Material returns for contributing to this Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign are very modest. For $10.00 you will receive an thank you note, handwritten by a child in the program. For $50.00, you will receive a bracelet with the words, “Stop Abuse” to help raise awareness. For $100.00 you will receive a t-shirt with the F.A.C.E.S. logo. The intangible returns, however, are astronomical. There are few things you can do with your charitable contribution dollars that outweigh helping a child, or freeing a survivor from the guilt and fear they carry inside them.

If you cannot contribute monetarily, you can still help out by spreading the word. In addition to “liking” the campaign on Facebook or Tweeting it on Twitter, or talking it up on other social media, you can tell five other friends about the campaign, and ask them to tell five more people. Just raising awareness of the problem is a step in the right direction toward ending it.

Jennifer, the founding mother of F.A.C.E.S. states that they have no worries about being able to fulfill the Give Hope 5 & Stop Secrets of Abuse campaign promises. Simply educating the public about the daunting statistics and telling Angel’s story has already increased awareness. The money raised from the campaign will go toward outreach, education, prevention and counseling. It costs $100 for a professionally lead session. So for each $500 raised, at least 5 children, their families and a community will be served each day. If fully funded, F.A.C.E.S. can provide 5 sessions per day for one full year which, in-turn will touch the lives of hundreds of families and dozens of communities in need of services.
Jennifer says that her only fear is that a survivor might equate a failed campaign to not being worthy to receive help. You can help keep that fear from ever becoming a reality by promoting the campaign and giving a donation of any amount.

It has been said that children have little voice in what happens to them. This is your chance to make a difference, and to help out the little ones who need a voice to speak for them. Whether you give money, your time, or just make the effort to spread the word, your help will be deeply appreciated.
