BROOKSVILLE, FL, USA, October 21, 2014 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Local authors Pete Garbacki recently teamed up with Tate Publishing to kick-start the publication process of his new children’s book The Tree and the Star.

The Tree and the Star is a children’s book about a tree that looks up to the sky and is enamored by it. The book talks about God’s purpose for creation, friendship and love. It is geared toward elementary school ages and intended to be a tool to enhance a parent’s relationship with a child through storytelling.

When asked about their decision to sign the book, Tate Publishing acquisitions editor Raimie McDaniel responded, “We are delighted to welcome Pete into our family of Tate authors.... This beautiful book demonstrates the character of love and friendship in the most fascinating way!”

“This book started as an elaboration on a poem I wrote back in the ‘80s when I had a passing crush on Susanna Hoffs from the Bangles…I thought about how infatuated I was with her and she would never know I existed. Hence, I was like a tree that loved a star. I have lost the poem over the years, but I never forgot the premise,” shares Pete. Pete hopes that the story will eventually be read by families and will make an impression on young lives.

Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book will be available upon its release through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.

Pete Garbacki is an ordained minister from Florida. He has been married to Loiana and they have two children together. Ever since he was in high school, Pete has always found solace in writing stories, essays, poetry, and songs. He is currently working on several other books for children and was the former guitarist of a Christian band, The Sheep in Wolf's Clothes.
