Cafe O’Play Rounding Out Funds with a Kickstarter Campaign

STOW, OHIO, UNITED STATES, September 22, 2014 /EINPresswire.com/ -- John and Carolyn Green, parents of four children under age twelve, know the importance of healthy exercise in a safe place for youngsters. They have started creating Cafe O’Play, a space where children age ten and under can run, romp and generally let off steam. Their plans include a café/coffee shop where healthy gourmet foods and coffee will be served. There will be party spaces, planned events, and all kinds of different sorts of areas for independent or group play. Toddler areas will be separate from the multilevel playground space. There will also be an EyePlay Interactive floor, where children can play giant sized computer games by hopping and stepping on spaces on the floor. Some things – like the laser maze – might have to wait a year or two until the business can pay for them, but most of the building and planning is well in hand.

That’s the operant term here, folks: most. As can often happen with a project of this size, the building part is costing a little bit more than planned. That is why the Greens have initiated a Kickstarter Crowdfunding Campaign to finish taking up the slack in the budget. They have a number of excellent rewards planned, as well as in-store recognition by placing contributor’s names on a “Backer Wall”. The rewards are as follows:

• $20, your name will be added to the Backer Wall, which will be on display at the Cafe O’Play.
• $50, your name will be displayed and you will receive a stylish Cafe O’Play t-shirt to show your support.
• $75, and you will receive the previous rewards, plus a one-day, all-day, child’s pass.
• $100, you will receive the t-shirt, get your name on the wall and get a five-visit pass for one child.
• $500, your reward will be a three-month child pass – you pick the time – as well as your name on the Backer Wall and a limited edition t-shirt with the Cafe O’Play logo.
• $2000 will obtain for you a family pass for one full year.
• $5,000 you are a Grand Opening Champion, invited to the Grand Opening – travel expenses paid from anywhere in the continental US.
• $7,500, you will be declared a Grand Opening Champion, and Carolyn Green – an accomplished musician – will compose a song in your honor to be played at the Grand Opening.

If you decide to back the Cafe O’Play Kickstarter Crowdfunding Campaign at a level where the reward is a free pass, you can donate your pass to a local church or charity that will give it to a child or family who might not otherwise be able to afford a visit to Café O’Play. In this way, you could be giving twice, for the price of one donation.

Cafe O’Play is modeled after other IPACs or Indoor Play and Cafés that are already in operation, so the Greens already know that this business model is a viable one. Some of the stores they looked at before getting started include Cool Beans, Chelsea Treehouse and Lottes and Lollipops.

Furthermore, IPACs speak to a growing awareness that children need room to run, play and be noisy for healthy growth. With growing concerns about excess weight gain, as well as child safety, places like Cafe O’play offer an opportunity for families to go out together. The Café will include a low wall, topped by a glass pane which will allow parents to relax and hold a quiet conversation over a cup of coffee while still being able to watch their children play. The café will seat 70, and will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as food for parties.

Instructors will supervise Fit clubs for moms and dads, and there will be performance events for children and parents. There will be “house” concerts, and other musical happenings, as well as arts and crafts classes, story times and “meet the author” events.

In short, the Greens hope to make their new IPAC a community gathering place, where families can hold parties, kids and parents can learn new things, and everyone can have a fantastically good time socializing and letting off steam in a healthy, safe environment. They say they want to make Café O’Play “the playdate for everyone.”
