Athol, ID: Meth Lab Cleanup® Company has been invited to speak at the 2014 National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children Conference. This conference will provide training on the latest research and best practice strategies for drug endangered children efforts at the local, state, tribal and federal levels. This conference will enable participants to enhance collaborative efforts to protect children from the harmful effects of their caregivers’ substance abuse.
The conference is being held at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, Lake Buena Vista, Florida from October 7-9, 2014. It is anticipated that a nationwide representation of service providers and professionals, including child welfare providers, substance abuse treatment providers, juvenile and family court judges and attorneys, law enforcement, prosecutors, probation officers, prevention specialist, maternal and child health agencies, physicians, nurses, researchers and evaluators, educators, Tribal communities, community organizations serving youth, and children and adult mental health providers. This year, Joseph Mazzuca, Meth Lab Cleanup®, will be presenting on the detrimental effects of clandestine drug laboratories on children, public resources, neighborhoods and communities.
According to Mr. Mazzuca, “Residential clandestine drug labs, if left unaddressed, are detrimental to neighborhood home values, are subject to vandalism, are attractive to squatters and are environmental and potential fire hazards. Although twenty-three states and many counties and cities regulate the decontamination of these homes, most regulations are ineffective in their authority to quarantine properties and require remediation to make homes safe for children. In addition, many governing organizations do not have the personnel and resources to administer the laws.”
Meth Lab Cleanup® will be introducing a new onsite methamphetamine laser reader at the conference. MLCC will also be exhibiting two home meth residue kits, AccuMeth® and MethAssure®. AccuMeth® Immediate (patent pending) is an onsite meth test of superb quality and performance. Meth Lab Cleanup®’s onsite kit utilizes a lateral-flow immunoassay, visually-read application; much like a pregnancy test. The MethAssure® 2-Day laboratory test kit is mailed for analysis after use to an independent, SAMSHA/EPA accredited laboratory which can detect methamphetamine residue to levels below 0.02 μg/100cm2; the lowest detection level in the nation.
