City of Wauwatosa expands use of brine with purchase of AccuBatch brine maker for upcoming winter season

WAUWATOSA, Wis. After the success they experienced with brine last year, the City of Wauwatosa, Wis., has decided to take it up a notch with the purchase of an AccuBatch brine maker for the upcoming winter season.

The AccuBatch brine maker is manufactured by Cargill Deicing Technology. Capable of producing up to 800 gallons per batch, the AccuBatch brine maker is the only model at its price point to feature automated, direct salinity concentration measurement. This will save the city valuable labor time and guarantee the proper salinity concentration with every batch they produce.

During our pilot program, we purchased brine from other entities and decided that we needed a low cost, consistent supply of brine to supply our brining operations, said Marion Sodnik, management analyst intern at the City of Wauwatosa. It is also a bonus that we dont need to send valuable equipment and personnel to other locations to wait to fill our tanks.

The plug and play design of the AccuBatch brine maker allows for easy setup and operation. In addition, the cleanout process takes only minutes to complete and can be done simply by pulling on a lever to open a valve that releases excess salt and sediment. Made from marine-grade fiberglass, this two tank design is durable, dependable and a very cost-effective way to make salt brine.

The City of Wauwatosa is proud to be the first city in Wisconsin to use the Cargill AccuBatch system, said Sodnik. The Cargill AccuBatch system was the only system we found that combined low cost with high-end features, such as stainless steel and marine grade fiberglass, ceramic components and state of the art salinity control all packaged in an easy plug and play system. Simplicity, accuracy, ease of clean-out and the backing of a world-class vendor was an absolute necessity and we found it in this system.

The AccuBatch brine maker is the second brine making system to be offered by Cargill Deicing Technology, joining their fully-automated system, the AccuBrine automated brine maker.
