One-Third of Voters Still Willing to Switch Vote

Share |

Oct 27, 2010 /EIN Presswire/ - With midterm elections less than a week away, a new Associated Press poll shows that up to one-third of voters have not fully committed to voting for one candidate.

In the most expensive midterm election in U.S. history, not even months of campaigning could satisfy a large number of the American electorate. The AP poll shows Republicans hold a 7-point lead over their Democratic opponents in blanket party vote polling.

Although most voters usually settle with the party they most often vote for when making a decision in the finals days before an election, the high number of competitive House, Senate and Gubernatorial elections leaves many analysts and commentators to guess. Many Independents makes up the undecided electorate, a bad sign for Democrats during this election cycle.

A year in which the economy is center stage, undecided voters at a margin of 59-to-39 believe that the country is headed in the wrong direction.
