New File & ServeXpress CEO Will Accelerate E-Filing Innovation and Expansion

As CEO, Mel Yarbrough expands management team with appointment of Craig Steffen to Focus on Software Development and IT

IRVING, TX, US, April 1, 2014 /EINPresswire.com/ -- File & ServeXpress, the pioneer and national leader of electronic filing for the legal and judicial communities, today announced the appointment of 20-year business growth veteran Mel Yarbrough as chief executive officer. He succeeds Doug Mitchell, who will retain the post of Chairman of the Board.

“Mel has built a reputation as a strategic and inspirational leader, galvanizing growth in start-ups and national companies,” said Mitchell, File & ServeXpress Board Chairman. “In his role as General Manager, Mel has had the opportunity to learn our business and get to know our clients. It is an excellent time to pave the way for new leadership and fresh thinking.”

Yarbrough was hired as general manager of File & ServeXpress in September 2013, and has been instrumental in implementing infrastructure in preparation for driving growth. As CEO, he will preside over the company’s planned growth of product and service offerings.
Yarbrough is well positioned to head the company’s efforts, not only for his leadership expertise but also, as an attorney, he brings invaluable insight of the legal profession that File & ServeXpress serves.

Previously, as Chief Operating Officer for Towerstream, Yarbrough led the company’s transformation from a small wireless internet service provider to a nationally recognized mobile wireless leader. During his tenure, the company was recognized two years in a row as first in revenue growth in the alternative carrier industry by SmartTrend.

Prior to his five-year stint with Towerstream, Yarbrough served in executive positions at technology companies that led their marketplace including Hoovers, Starcite and Handango, consistently achieving accelerated revenue growth at each company. Additionally, he served as executive vice president at LoisLaw, leading the company from a regional legal publisher to a high-growth national content provider in the legal industry.

Yarbrough received a degree in economics from Southern Methodist University in 1987 and a law degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1991.

In naming Craig Steffen as the Vice President of Software Development and IT, Yarbrough sets the stage for bringing new products and services to the legal market.

Steffen is a former senior vice president for Xerox, where he led Healthcare Enterprise Operations and the Operations Advisory Group, Government Sector for the past eight years. With 26 years of information technology experience in the professional services arena, Steffen will be key to setting the strategic direction of the File & ServeXpress next generation product line.

File & ServeXpress was formed in 2012 through an acquisition of Lexis Nexis’ File & Serve and CaseFileXpress, the largest and preeminent e-Filing and e-Service providers for attorneys and courts. However, we recognize that electronic filing and service offerings have tremendous untapped potential,” said Yarbrough. “Now, we are poised to bring even more offerings, along with the exemplary customer service for which we are known, to the legal industry. We look forward to adding even more value for our clients.”
