Only three years into the Department’s decade-long SunShot Initiative, the solar industry is already more than 60% of the way to achieving SunShot’s aggressive cost targets –$0.06 per kilowatt hour (kWh) for utility-scale PV solar electricity by 2020. Today, solar-generated electricity is now cost-competitive with traditional energy sources in several states, and costs continue to fall. So what’s next?

Le will join other solar community leaders to discuss SunShot’s vision for America’s solar future in advance of the 2014 SunShot Grand Challenge Summit in Anaheim, California from May 18-22.

Minh Le – Director, Solar Energy Technologies Office @ENERGY

Minh Le is the director of the Solar Energy Technologies Office within the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, where he helps manage and balance the portfolio of Research, Development, Demonstration, and Deployment programs in achieving our national SunShot goals. Prior to his current role at the Energy Department, Minh spent his career in industry developing technologies and scaling new technologies to high volume manufacturing. Minh earned his SB and SM degrees from MIT where he held fellowships by the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, and the Bose Foundation.
