Computer Application Services (CAS) recertifies to the Cyber Essentials with IT Governance’s DIY packaged solution
ELY, CAMBRIDGESHIRE, UNITED KINGDOM, September 20, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Cyber security consultancy firm and CREST-accredited certification body IT Governance congratulates software development experts Computer Application Services (CAS) on successfully recertifying to the government-backed Cyber Essentials scheme. CAS is the company behind trusted complaint management software Workpro.
Alan Calder, founder and chief executive officer of IT Governance, said: “Congratulations to Computer Application Services (CAS) on achieving recertification to Cyber Essentials. By recertifying to the scheme annually, our client mitigates existing cyber threats while meeting the specific procurement and customer requirements to be able to create new business opportunities and improve client credibility.”
Cyber Essentials certification is a process of verified self-assessment that helps organisations establish a basic level of confidence and cyber security founded on five key controls. The five controls are: secure configuration, boundary firewalls and Internet gateways, access controls and administrative privilege management, patch management and malware protection.
Pete Murray, security manager at Computer Application Services (CAS), said: “Computer Application Services values the principles behind the Cyber Essentials qualification very highly. As well as proving our commitment to handling internal and customer data securely, the exercise reminds us of the variety and scope of information systems that need to be protected. The certification process is detailed enough to cover many aspects of infrastructure and policy security, but has no impact on day-to-day work. The collection of data is very straightforward, exposing basic operations and assumptions, whilst guiding towards best practice solutions to everyday problems.”
The Edinburgh-based company, developers of the Workpro complaint management software, achieved recertification to the Cyber Essentials scheme with IT Governance’s ‘Do It Yourself’ package2. This solution is designed to give organisations full control over their vulnerability assessment and the certification process through the online CyberComply portal.
IT Governance’s Cyber Essentials packaged solutions1 offer organisations certification assistance in transparent, flexible and cost-effective packages.
